First time playing with Storify

Earlier this week, I attended the U@live session featuring Professor Leo Tan. As usual, I live-tweeted the event, and decided to use Storify as a medium to curate and organise my tweets. The result is this.

Also, because I got so carried away talking about dinosaurs, I decided to create a second Storify, where I could share more pictures of Edmontosaurus and Triceratops, post videos of these two large herbivores locked in conflict with Tyrannosaurus, and write more about how dinosaurs are important for science: they awe and inspire us, spurring us to find out more about other species, both extinct and extant.

I have to say, Storify is easy to use and it's great to see how various online social media platforms can be integrated into a single coherent piece. There are some shortcomings though, such as the difficulty in finding a way to provide captions to embedded pictures or videos. And for videos, it is impossible to embed the video link such that it starts playing from a specific time onwards. Not to mention that there is no way to extract relevant tweets from protected accounts.

It looks like I have a new tool for upcoming events, especially when I need to start compiling and archiving relevant tweets.
