Monkey-ing around for food at Telok Blangah

STOMPer Joyce Lim was amused to see four monkeys looking for food at Telok Blangah Way today (11 May 2010).

The STOMPer said in an email:

"I spotted four monkeys at Telok Blangah Way while on my way home after bringing my kids to school this morning.

"It's rather amusing to see them swinging around looking for food."

It's all very amusing, as long as there are no idiots feeding these long-tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis) and getting them to associate humans with food.

Telok Blangah Way is right next to Mount Faber Park, which is part of the Southern Ridges, so it is not surprising that monkeys should venture into the nearby residential areas to forage.
